Building your rental dossier, step by step
From an empty form to a finished PDF: this is how Wohnera's builder walks through the seven steps of a Swiss rental application — and what you can lay out in advance for each.
The seven steps
The steps allow free navigation — you can jump around and complete things later. The order is still the recommendation: later steps build on earlier answers.
- Basics — the details every application asks for first, for everyone signing the lease.
- Address — where you live today, since when, and your current landlord as the reference.
- Status — your residence status; the permit counts as your identity document.
- Occupation — employer, role, since when. A future start date is a normal case here.
- Finances — income and obligations; the builder computes the one-third rule for you.
- Household — who moves in, pets, parking: the questions of Swiss forms, answered once.
- Documents — the checklist, adapted to your answers, with expiry tracking for the debt extract.
Attaching documents
Each person has their own list: identity, payslips, debt extract, plus the optional strengtheners. The checklist adapts — someone whose job has not started yet is not asked for payslips that cannot exist. Missing documents never block you: attach them any time later.
The finished PDF
The result is one single PDF: a cover with the household arithmetic, a clickable table of contents, then every document in the order an agency expects to read it. You choose the PDF's language independently of the interface — German for the agency, even if you fill everything in English.
Everything you enter stays in your browser: no account, no upload. The sample dossier shows what the result looks like — generated with this very builder.
Start with the first step — the rest follows in order.
