Everything you enter or attach in the dossier builder stays in your browser. It is not transmitted to us or to anyone else, and we cannot see it. The PDF is created on your device. Reference persons you choose to name — your current landlord or agency, someone at your employer — are details about other people: name, email and phone number stay in your browser like everything else and appear only in the PDF you hand over yourself. Ask them beforehand whether you may name them.

There is one exception: the «Street and number» field on the «About you» step, and only for an address in Switzerland or Liechtenstein. As you type there, what you type is sent to the address search of swisstopo, the Federal Office of Topography, so that matching addresses from the official building-address register can be suggested to you. swisstopo is a Swiss federal body; the request goes straight from your browser to it — we never see it and we store none of it. Only that one field is affected: postcode, town and everything else stay on your device.

One more thing happens on your device, and it is in your favour: photos and scans often carry hidden extra data – where and when they were taken, the camera model, sometimes a name. Photograph a document at home and it can say where you live. Wohnera removes that extra data before the document goes into the PDF, and does not recompute the image while doing so – your documents stay exactly as legible as they were. This too happens in your browser: neither the photo nor what was removed ever reaches us.

If you sign up for updates we store your email address, the language you chose, the time, and the version of the consent text you agreed to. Nothing else: no name, no IP address. The address is used only after you confirm it via the link in the confirmation email; unconfirmed addresses are deleted automatically after seven days.

Purpose: an occasional email when Wohnera releases something new. No newsletter, no third-party advertising. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every message; your address is then permanently deleted.

Sending is done through Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, Luxembourg, with servers in Frankfurt (Germany, EU); the provider processes your address solely on our behalf (data-processing agreement with a Swiss addendum).

So that Wohnera works without a connection, your browser keeps a copy of this site's public pages (a service worker). No personal details are in it. Your browser also remembers your language (one cookie), the colour scheme you chose, and whether you dismissed the install hint. All of it stays on your device and can be cleared in your browser settings.

We count anonymously which steps of the builder are reached, without IP address or identifier and rounded to the hour. These numbers cannot be tied to a person. There is no marketing tracking.

Wohnera runs at Infomaniak in Switzerland.

You can ask at any time what data we hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted. An email to contact@wohnera.ch is enough.
